Join my campaign for a new integrated Health Centre on Holy Island
When I ask local people about GP provision across Anglesey I get a resounding message back that GP services on Ynys Cybi (Holy Island) are struggling particularly badly.
Several years ago Longford and Cambria Surgeries in Holyhead were combined to create Hwb Iechyd Cybi - a single practice over two sites, serving thousands of patients on Ynys Cybi and across the west of Anglesey. The team running the practice is working hard to implement change and introduce more clinicians.
Two years ago I spoke with the team there about their proposed project to co-locate the two former practices into one surgery on the Cambria site. This would make the practice more efficient and allow them to give patients a much better service. It has also been seen as a stepping stone to the long-awaited and long-discussed integrated Holyhead Health Centre.
Unfortunately both the co-location project and the Holyhead Health Centre have struggled to get the recognition and funding they desperately need from BCUHB and so neither has really progressed.
That is why I am launching a campaign to highlight the health needs of my constituents and press BCUHB to make urgent progress on this very important project.
Please sign up to my campaign and tell me about your experiences of health services on Anglesey.
